Polish utility Enea launches 9 bn zł investment plan, builds gas‑steam units in Kozienice

Enea Group posted first‑quarter 2026 results with EBITDA above 1.5 billion zlotys and total sales and other income close to 7.2 billion zlotys. The company is expanding renewable generation, noting a 92 % year‑on‑year rise in green energy output driven by wind farms.

In 2026 the group will commit a record 9 billion zlotys to its investment programme, including the start of construction on two combined‑cycle gas‑steam blocks in Kozienice with a combined capacity of about 1,336 MW. The plants are intended to boost system flexibility, support energy‑security and lower emissions while implementing a local‑content strategy.

Additional priorities are large‑scale energy‑storage projects and digitalisation of the distribution network. Enea has introduced the RankINN data‑analytics tool, published real‑time connection capacity maps and signed Poland’s first Inter‑Emergency Reactive Power Regulation (IRB) service contract. New retail products such as “Secure Photovoltaics” and fixed‑price energy offers have also been launched.
