Polish vehicle rental market grows to 261,000 units

The number of vehicles in long-term rental and fleet management (CFM) within the Polish Association of Vehicle Rental and Leasing (PZWLP) grew by 12.4% year-on-year to 261,000 by the end of June 2026. For the first time, the organization also reported data on truck rentals, with four companies managing approximately 11,200 vehicles, representing about 80% of that market.

In the first half of the year, new passenger car registrations for CFM services increased by 2% year-on-year. Rental services accounted for 21% of new car purchases by companies, while the remaining 79% were made through cash, credit, or various forms of leasing.

The market is facing several challenges, including aggressive discounts on new vehicles, the expansion of Chinese brands, and geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East affecting fuel prices. These factors are impacting residual values and forcing companies to redefine their pricing models. Additionally, the fleet structure is shifting toward electrification; electric vehicles saw an 84% year-on-year increase, now making up 6.8% of the CFM fleet.
