Polish Video Game Days launched to promote gaming industry
The Polish video game industry is launching ‘Polish Video Game Days,’ a large-scale initiative coordinated by the Institute of Creative Industries (IPK). The project aims to promote the sector internationally and establish video games as a significant element of Poland’s cultural heritage.
The program includes various activities, such as an immersive exhibition titled ‘From Poland to a Million Worlds’ and a retrospective exhibition, ‘Join the Game: 40 years of Polish video games.’ Additionally, the digital platform GOG.com has hosted a sale featuring over 150 Polish titles. The initiative also includes the CEEGA awards gala in Poznań and the creation of a ‘Polish Video Game Trail’ marking 15 locations in Poland linked to virtual worlds.
According to the IPK, the Polish gaming sector is a major economic driver, comprising over 800 companies and nearly 15,000 specialists, with 97% of its productions reaching international markets. The main event is scheduled to run from November 4 to December 15.
