Polish volleyball star Joanna Wołosz quits national team

Joanna Wołosz, former captain of the Poland women’s national volleyball team, announced she will no longer play for the national side. The decision comes after the team reached the quarter‑finals at the Paris 2024 Olympics, marking Wołosz’s last appearance in Polish colours.

Wołosz criticised recent player resignations, stating she does not support abandoning the jersey, and emphasized respect for the national team and its fans. She will instead focus on her club career with Italy’s Imoco Volley Conegliano, where she plans to finish her playing days and pursue a Champions League title. Wołosz also confirmed she has no interest in a move to Turkey and is considering extending her contract in Italy.
