Polish volleyball team faces injuries before Nations League tournament in Chicago
Poland's men's volleyball coach Nikola Grbić said three players are dealing with injuries ahead of the Nations League group stage in Chicago. Setter Jan Firlej suffered a calf injury during warm‑up in Gliwice and, after further medical tests, is unlikely to travel to the United States. Middle‑blocker Jakub Kochanowski, still recovering from knee problems, will travel with the squad but will not be eligible to play. The remaining roster, including Marcel Bakaj who replaced Firlej, is ready for the competition.
Poland will open the Chicago phase on July 15 against Bulgaria, followed by matches with Brazil, France and the United States. Grbić emphasized that player health remains the top priority and that decisions will be finalized after the upcoming medical examinations.
