Polish Volunteer Fire Brigades Hold August 2026 Community Festivals

The volunteer fire brigade OSP Stegny in the Elbląg region will mark its 80th anniversary on 8 August 2026. The program includes an official ceremony at 13:00 featuring a historic appeal, the sealing of a Time Capsule for the youth fire squad, and a social‑resilience game called “STEGNY – ODPORNA WIEŚ 2030”. A family picnic with children’s activities, inflatable rides and a creative zone will follow, concluding around 18:30.

In the nearby village of Okup, OSP and KGW Okup are organising a Fire Festival on the same day to raise funds for completing a new fire‑station building. The event starts at 15:00 and offers a raffle, children’s attractions, a food zone and live music by DJ Mariusz and the band MEDIUM. Attendees are encouraged to donate directly to the specified bank account to support the construction project.
