Polish Volunteer Fire Brigades Launch Bottle Collection Drives

In the town of Biała Podlaska, the volunteer fire department OSP Sławacinek Stary announced a campaign called “Razem jedziemy po przyszłość” to collect at least one million plastic bottles and cans. The goal is to raise funds for a nine‑person bus that will transport youth to competitions, trainings and trips. By the end of July the brigade had gathered about 50 000 containers, roughly 25 000 zł, and installed a bottle‑machine with 15 collection points at locations such as churches, the municipal police headquarters and the regional hospital.

Meanwhile, the volunteer fire department OSP Jarocin placed a dedicated container for returnable bottles near its station on Śródmiejska 32. All proceeds from the collected bottles will be used entirely to purchase rescue equipment and other gear for the unit. Residents are urged to bring their empty bottles and to refrain from taking already‑collected containers.

Both initiatives aim to involve local communities in supporting fire‑service resources while promoting recycling.
