Polish Volunteer Fire Brigades Shine at International Competition in Austria
Four teams from the Volunteer Fire Brigade of Lądek represented Poland at the CTIF International Sports‑Firefighting Championships in Eisenstadt, Austria, from 22–26 July. The men's team placed 12th in the Azajęła group, another men’s team finished 10th in the Bupla group, the women’s team took 8th in the Az group and a second women’s team secured 5th in the B group.
The Pleszew State Fire Service team also competed in Eisenstadt and earned a silver medal. The squad, composed of ten firefighters including aspirants Mateusz Grabarek and Jacek Nowak, demonstrated high skill in a 400‑metre fire‑relay with obstacles, reflecting months of preparation and exchange of techniques with international peers.
Both brigades highlighted the event as a prestigious platform for showcasing Polish fire‑service expertise, acknowledging support from regional authorities and fire‑service organisations.
