Polish volunteer fire departments receive new emergency equipment

Local volunteer fire departments (OSP) in Poland are receiving significant funding to upgrade their emergency response capabilities.

In the Bydgoszcz County, the OSP Mąkowarsko unit has been equipped with a modern MS 462 petrol-powered rescue saw. This investment was made possible through targeted grants from the Bydgoszcz County council to improve the effectiveness of rescue operations and enhance community safety in the Koronowo municipality and surrounding areas.

In the Silesian Voivodeship, the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice has distributed grants through the ‘Safe Firefighter’ program. As part of this initiative, 73 units across northern Silesia received support. Specifically, the OSP units in Bogusławice and Kruszyna each received 15,000 PLN to purchase essential equipment for disaster response, hazard mitigation, and environmental protection.
