Polish volunteer firefighters conduct civil defense and safety training

Volunteer firefighters in Poland are participating in various training and educational initiatives focused on civil defense and public safety. In Wałbrzych County, members of volunteer fire departments completed specialized theoretical training regarding civil defense and CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) threats. The program included rigorous training in the safe handling of weapons using the BLOS system and practical shooting exercises conducted under the supervision of the Survival Foundation. The event concluded with the first District Shooting Championships for Volunteer Fire Departments, where OSP Czarny Bór took first place.

On a national level, Youth Firefighting Teams (MDP) are organizing the ‘MDP for Safety’ campaign from September 24–26. This initiative focuses on educating the public about home, school, and workplace safety. Activities include school visits to demonstrate first aid, the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED), evacuation procedures, and fire extinguisher usage. The campaign also aims to teach residents about emergency preparedness, such as creating family crisis plans and understanding safety sensors.
