Polish wedding advice covers guest lodging costs and décor mishaps

Experts in Poland say that when a couple invites guests who must travel far, the cost of accommodation is traditionally the couple’s responsibility, though no legal rules exist. Many couples choose to subsidise lodging for close family or cover only distant guests, while others simply provide information so guests can arrange their own stays.

A separate Polish wedding story described a chaotic attempt to shrink a large hall by importing sixteen birch trees. Delivery delays, steep streets, and the trees’ uneven weight caused them to topple, forcing the groom to buy adhesive bags to stabilise the displays on the wedding day.

Both pieces illustrate the logistical and etiquette challenges Polish couples face when planning weddings, from financial decisions about guest accommodation to unconventional décor solutions that can go awry.
