Polish WIG20 Index Climbs Above 3,700 Points, Setting New Records
Poland’s WIG20 index rose 2.26% to close above the 3,700‑point psychological barrier, establishing new intraday and weekly highs. Trading volume approached 2.36 billion zlotys, with the WIG20 component accounting for about 1.95 billion zlotys.
Pepco led the blue‑chip winners with a 4.66% gain, while Żabka Group fell 2.26%. The banking segment outperformed, as the WIG‑Banks index jumped 3.41% and generated roughly 981 million zlotys in turnover. Analysts noted that the market’s bullish momentum could face resistance around 3,788 points, but the break above 3,700 points has sparked optimism for further advances.
