Birmingham 2026: Polish athletes compete at European Athletics Championships

Polish athletes are competing in various disciplines at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. Jakub Szymański secured a bronze medal in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.26 seconds, narrowly missing his national record by 0.01 seconds.

In the field events, Adrianna Sułek-Schubert has shown strong form in the heptathlon, leading after the high jump portion. Meanwhile, javelin throwers Marcin Krukowski and Dawid Wegner both qualified for the finals despite challenging weather conditions, including temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius and shifting winds.

In distance running, Elżbieta Glinka finished 12th in the 10,000m event. In the high jump, Mateusz Kołodziejski competed in the final, facing high-level competition including Olympic champion Gianmarco Tamberi.
