Polish women's champions secure victories in volleyball and handball

In Polish women's professional sports, reigning champions secured victories in both volleyball and handball.

In the Tauron Liga volleyball season opener, PGE Budowlani Łódź defeated Netland MKS Kalisz. The defending champions dominated the first set with a 25:7 score, fueled by strong serving from Maja Storck and Martyna Grajber-Nowakowska. Łódź continued their control through the subsequent sets to secure the win against the newly promoted side.

In the Lotto Superliga women's handball, KGHM MKS Zagłębie Lubin defeated Sośnica Gliwice 27:22. Zagłębie Lubin established a significant 16:10 lead in the first half. Despite a stronger second-half performance by Gliwice, the deficit was too large to overcome. Top scorers for Zagłębie included Julia Bednarczyk and Kinga Jakubowska, while Justyna Świerczek led the scoring for Sośnica.
