Polish women's volleyball eyes VNL 2026 prize money while domestic league schedule unveiled

The Polish women’s national volleyball team is competing in the intercontinental phase of the 2026 Volleyball Nations League (VNL). After a 1‑3 loss to Turkey, Poland upset the United States 3‑2 and will face Brazil and Japan before the final round in Macau, where the eight‑team Final Eight will be held. The FIVB has attached significant financial incentives: the champion receives $1 million, the runner‑up $500 thousand and third place $300 thousand, with $9.5 thousand awarded for each win in the intercontinental phase and $4.25 thousand for each loss. Individual awards include $30 thousand for the tournament MVP and $10 thousand for each Dream Team selection, all paid to the Polish Volleyball Federation, which then decides player bonuses.

Separately, the ORLEN Superliga Women’s league announced its 2026/27 schedule. Ten clubs will contest the season, which begins with the Polish Super Cup on 29 August 2026 in Łódź’s Atlas Arena, followed by the first league round on 5‑6 September. The competition will follow a double round‑robin format, after which the top six teams advance to a championship group and the bottom four to a relegation group. The calendar includes regional derbies such as KPR Gminy Kobierzyce vs KGHM Zagłębie Lubin and Enea MKS Gniezno vs Szczypiorna Kalisz, as well as European cup qualifiers for three Polish clubs.
