Poland's ZUS rolls out multiple pension and benefit changes
The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) announced that August pensions and rents for recipients whose regular payment dates fall on 1 August or 15 August will be paid early in July. Bank‑account transfers are scheduled for 30 July, while postal deliveries will occur on 28 July. ZUS reports over 8.8 million total payouts, with 7.2 million made to bank accounts and 1.6 million delivered by post.
The number of centenarians receiving the statutory honorary benefit rose to 4,262 in June 2026, up from 4,057 in December 2025. Each beneficiary receives a uniform gross amount of 6,938.92 zł per month, with the majority (736) residing in the Mazowieckie region, followed by Śląskie (436) and Dolnośląskie (412).
ZUS also detailed the 14th pension supplement, set at the minimum pension level of 1,978.49 zł gross (1,800.43 zł net after health‑insurance and tax deductions). The supplement is not granted to seniors whose total pension falls below 50 zł gross or whose pension/rent payments are suspended.
Separately, ZUS reminded workers born between 1949 and 1968 that early‑retirement eligibility requires documented employment in special or hazardous conditions, at least 20 years of service for women or 25 years for men, and meeting the age criteria. The Central Statistical Office (GUS) forecast a March 2027 pension and rent indexation of about 4.18 percent, meaning the minimum pension could rise by roughly 78 zł.
