Polish ZUS processes over 1.2 bn zł in health contribution refunds and grants 124 mn zł to Warmian‑Masurian firms
The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) has returned close to 1.26 bn zł to more than 770,000 entrepreneurs who overpaid their 2025 health contributions. Over 99 % of the 770,800 refund applications have been processed, and the agency continues to settle remaining cases, including automatic refunds for about 1.1 million entrepreneurs with unclaimed overpayments.
ZUS also runs a "vacation contributions" scheme that lets firms skip paying certain social security contributions for one month each year. Since the programme began in November 2024, more than 3.28 million applications have been filed nationwide, with exemptions totalling over 4.2 bn zł. In the Warmian‑Masurian region, 96.6 k firms received exemptions worth more than 124 mn zł.
