Politank Corp granted extension to contest $80,000 DDEC fines in Puerto Rico

Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC) Secretary Carlos Ríos Pierluisi said Politank Corp requested more time to challenge administrative fines imposed by the agency. The agency granted an extension allowing the company to submit its motion for reconsideration between August 12 and August 17.

The fines total $80,000, representing $10,000 for each of eight violations for failing to file required annual reports under the firm’s tax‑incentive decree. The extension also lets Politank argue against the agency’s warning that continued non‑compliance could lead to revocation or annulment of the decree.
