Politecnico di Milano launches initiative to support student startups

Politecnico di Milano is launching 'Polimi Innovators' to promote student entrepreneurship and foster a culture of risk-taking. The initiative aims to support aspiring entrepreneurs across undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs by providing integrated skills, tools, and programs.

Daniele Rocchi, Vice Rector for technology transfer and industry relations, noted a shift in student attitudes toward work, moving away from the traditional pursuit of permanent employment. He highlighted that while only 1.5% of students dreamed of starting a company in 2018, the university now supports 1,000 innovators.

To centralize these efforts, the university will host an Innovation District at the Bovisa campus starting next January. This dedicated space is designed to gather innovators who were previously scattered across different university locations.
