Political advisers in Bangladesh and Pakistan issue warnings to opposition parties
In Bangladesh, Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Zahir Uddin Swapan warned that fugitive fascist elements and covert forces may attempt to exploit intra-party competition during upcoming local government elections. Speaking in Barishal, Swapan noted that intelligence reports suggest attempts to create chaos and unrest, including among factory workers. He urged BNP leaders and activists to maintain unity to prevent conspiracies from weakening the party or obstructing development.
In Pakistan, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Senator Rana Sanaullah warned that political parties failing to support the armed forces in counterterrorism efforts face political exclusion. Sanaullah emphasized that eradicating terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a top national priority. He confirmed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved 160 billion rupees to strengthen provincial security infrastructure and support operations aimed at restoring stability to the region.
