Celina Leão launches 2026 reelection campaign in Distrito Federal

Celina Leão, the Governor of the Distrito Federal and candidate for reelection, has officially launched her 2026 electoral campaign. The launch included the opening of an official campaign committee in Ceilândia, the region's largest electoral area, and events in Granja do Torto and Taguatinga.

Leão's campaign features a strong conservative alignment, supported by former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro, who is running for the Senate. The coalition also includes Senate candidate Bia Kicis and Senator Damares Alves. Leão emphasized that her ticket is “majoritarily composed of women” and called for a “clean campaign” focused on proposals and results.

Gustavo Rocha (Republicanos) is running as Leão's vice-governor. The campaign events highlighted the unity of the conservative base and the influence of former President Jair Bolsonaro within the region.
