Political candidates launch campaigns in Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso

In Minas Gerais, the “Mulheres Unidas pelo Futuro” movement officially launched several candidacies in Itabira. Áurea Carolina (PSOL) is running for the Senate, while Raquell Guimarães (Rede) has been announced as her first substitute. Additionally, Núbia City (Rede) is contesting a seat in the State Legislative Assembly. During the launch, Áurea Carolina emphasized the need for economic diversification in mining-dependent municipalities, focusing on culture, tourism, science, and technology.

In Mato Grosso, political shifts are occurring within the União Progressista federation. Gisela Simona (UB) announced that Sandy de Paula (UB) will occupy her former spot in the federal chamber race. This follows Simona’s announcement as the vice-gubernatorial candidate alongside Otaviano Pivetta. The vacancy arose after Fábio Garcia (UB) withdrew from the vice-gubernatorial race following investigations by the Federal Police in Operation Heritage, which involves alleged misappropriation of funds involving the telecommunications company Oi S.A.
