Political candidates selected for 2027 municipal elections in Catalonia

Local political parties in Catalonia have announced their mayoral candidates for the 2027 municipal elections.

In Alcanar, Esquerra Republicana (ERC) has unanimously selected Marc Chavalera Esbrí to lead their candidacy. Chavalera, a 33-year-old economist and current mayor of Alcanar since January 2026, has held various municipal responsibilities including economy, finance, and tourism. His professional background includes experience as a fiscal advisor and a role at the Diputació de Tarragona.

In Calonge i Sant Antoni, the Junts party has also unanimously reconfirmed Jordi Soler as its mayoral candidate. Soler, a lawyer, has a long history in municipal management, having served as mayor during three separate periods since 2003. The party aims to build a diverse team that combines his extensive administrative experience with new political perspectives.
