Political controversies arise in Loreto Council and Paraguayan Chamber

In Loreto, Peru, the Regional Council faced criticism following an ordinary session where members approved a diploma of honor for technical advisor Héctor Manuel Meoño Zavaleta. The decision occurred despite a lack of physical attendance, with only six of the 16 councilors present in person. The session also included a report from the Comptroller regarding the delayed inauguration of the new Iquitos hospital due to various observations.

In Paraguay, the Chamber of Deputies failed to reach a quorum to proceed with the scheduled interpellation of Public Works Minister Claudia Centurión. This marks the second consecutive week the session has been postponed. Opposition deputies requested the interpellation to address the state of national roads following a fatal accident in Pedrozo, as well as concerns regarding road safety, infrastructure, and public works contracts. The ruling Colorado party has indicated it will not support the formal interpellation.
