Political developments in Benin and Chad

Abdoulaye Bio Tchané, President of the Economic and Social Council (CES), met with a delegation from the Bloc Républicain Youth Organization (OJBR) in Cotonou. Led by Youssoufou Bida, the delegation congratulated Bio Tchané on his election and discussed the institution's new strategic directions and reforms aimed at strengthening its role within the population.

In Chad, the Union Nationale pour la Démocratie et le Renouveau (UNDR) held an extraordinary meeting to address national issues. The party welcomed recent presidential pardons granted to nine political party leaders, calling for continued peace and reconciliation through direct dialogue. Additionally, the UNDR urged the government to combat rising inflation and called for proactive negotiations between the state and teacher unions to ensure a stable 2026-2027 school year.
