Political developments in Togo and Benin

In Togo, the Alliance nationale pour le changement (ANC) celebrated its 16th anniversary at its headquarters in Lomé. National President Jean-Pierre Fabre marked the occasion by reviewing the party's history since its founding on October 10, 2010. Fabre emphasized the party's commitment to democracy, sovereignty, and political alternation, while noting that members have faced political tension, harassment, and violence during their tenure.

In Benin, the Les Démocrates party held a congress in Porto-Novo to establish a new 60-member political bureau. Nourénou Atchadé was reappointed as president by consensus. The new leadership structure follows a period of internal instability and several high-profile defections, including former National Assembly Vice-President Éric Houndété. The bureau aims to rebuild party unity and restore public trust while managing various administrative, communication, and electoral departments.
