Political disputes arise in Murcia and Castilla-La Mancha

Political tensions are rising in Spain across different administrative levels. In Murcia, the People's Party (PP) has criticized the Government Delegate, Francisco Lucas, following his request to coordinate with the regional executive regarding the arrival of migrant boats on the coast. The PP claims the request is a distraction from the central government's responsibility, asserting that immigration control is an exclusive state competence and that the Delegate should instead demand more resources and personnel from the Ministry of the Interior.

In Castilla-La Mancha, the PSOE has formally accused José Julián Gregorio, president of the Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (Fempclm), of turning the institution into a political tool for the PP. Rafael Esteban, the socialist spokesperson, sent a letter protesting the unilateral decision to join protests regarding the situation in Ceuta without prior consultation or consensus from the federation's governing bodies. Esteban argued that the move mixes institutional solidarity with political reproach against the Spanish government.
