Political disputes arise over infrastructure spending in Cotronei and Cesena

In Cotronei, the political movement Cotronei 20 30 has defended Mayor Antonio Ammirati against opposition criticism regarding a 700,000 euro loan intended for extraordinary road maintenance. The movement claims the current administration has successfully reduced a 2.9 million euro deficit inherited in 2020 to 900,000 euros by the end of 2025. They further highlighted over 11 million euros in funding secured for projects including a municipal pool, nursery, and hydrogeological stability works.

In Cesena, a debate has emerged over the “bicipolitana” bicycle network project. Opposition members from the Lega party have criticized the approximately 12 million euro investment, labeling the network as expensive, non-functional, and lacking proper connections. They specifically cited incomplete sections and a waste of resources. Conversely, city officials defend the project, stating it has increased safety and infrastructure, with ambitions to eventually reach 135 kilometers of paths.
