Political disputes emerge in Avezzano and Veneto over oversight and urban planning

In Avezzano, opposition councilor Loreta Ruscio has criticized the local majority and the Democratic Party regarding the leadership of the Special Oversight Commission. Ruscio accused the majority of undermining institutional practices by appointing the sole Democratic Party councilor to the presidency through their own votes. She characterized the situation as political theater and called for genuine oversight and accountability rather than partisan maneuvering.

In the Veneto region, a long-standing dispute has resurfaced regarding a proposal to build 77 residential villas near the Ca' Roman oasis on Pellestina island. Gianfranco Bettin, a politician with the Avs party and former Environment Councilor, clarified the history of the project. He noted that the initiative, originally proposed by Cà Roman srl, faced significant internal government conflicts and legal setbacks between 2012 and 2014, including a court ruling in 2013 that halted the process.
