Political groups in Ingolstadt and Magdeburg promote democracy and diversity
In Ingolstadt, the SPD city council faction has proposed revitalizing the local Alliance for Democracy, Diversity, and Tolerance. The initiative aims to increase public awareness of the alliance, which was established in April 2024 by a broad coalition of associations, companies, churches, and political parties. Proposed measures include a media campaign featuring local best practices, a joint action day involving chambers and unions, and increased participation in the ‘Long Night of Democracy’ on October 2.
In Magdeburg, the alliance ‘Sachsen-Anhalt. Weltoffen!’ held a demonstration on Domplatz to promote democracy and social cohesion. The event, supported by a network of over 300 organizations including the Amadeu Antonio Foundation and various welfare associations, featured speakers such as Luisa Neubauer and Carolin Emcke. The demonstration focused on promoting an open and solidary society ahead of the state elections.
