Ayuso criticizes Sánchez during campaign visit to Valencia
Isabel Díaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid, held a campaign event in Valencia on Saturday, delivering a sharp critique of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and the PSOE. Speaking at the Mercado de Colón alongside Juanfran Pérez Llorca and María José Catalá, Ayuso called for a “restart” of Spain and accused the current government of being “squatters of power.”
Ayuso alleged that Sánchez fears leaving Moncloa for Soto del Real and accused the socialist government of attempting to “dismember” the nation through a plurinational republic, specifically citing Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, and the Valencian Community. She further criticized the government for neglecting national infrastructure and focusing on corruption scandals.
Prior to the main event, Ayuso visited the Cabanyal market. This unannounced stop reportedly met with boos and protests from local residents. In response to the heckling, members of the PP delegation were observed playing the Spanish national anthem at a high volume. The visit took place in a region that has become a central battleground between the PP and the PSOE following recent political activity by Sánchez in the same district.
