Rio Grande do Norte politics: Poll updates and Federal Police operation
Political activity in Rio Grande do Norte is marked by new polling data and law enforcement operations. A Metadata/Grupo Dial survey shows Lula leading the presidential race in the state with 54.9%, followed by Flávio Bolsonaro at 25.7%. In the race for Governor, Allyson Bezerra leads with 43%, while Cadu de Lula holds 20.1% and Álvaro Dias has 17.5%. The Senate race shows a technical tie between Styvenson Valentim (18.4%) and Zenaide (14.4%) when considering combined first and second vote preferences.
Simultaneously, the Federal Police launched Operação Sem Lastro in Natal to investigate potential electoral fraud and undeclared campaign funds. During the operation, authorities seized over R$ 1.5 million in cash, along with electronic devices and documents. The investigation focuses on suspicious cash withdrawals made by a political agent to determine if they align with declared assets. Meanwhile, Allyson Bezerra has been conducting regional mobilizations, including a caravan through Santo Antônio to strengthen local political ties.
