Moreno argued that the nation's independence and sovereignty must be respected, rejecting any depiction of the country as a colony or protectorate.

In Argentina, President Javier Milei addressed the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands during a national broadcast. The announcement included plans for economic sanctions against oil companies operating in the archipelago without Argentine authorization, specifically targeting the Sea Lion project. Additionally, Milei highlighted the strategic geopolitical importance of the islands for South Atlantic and Antarctic projection, announcing the construction of a naval base in Tierra del Fuego.
