Political leadership changes in Cambrils and Cocentaina

In Cambrils, Enric Daza will transition to the role of non-attached councillor following an extraordinary plenary session. This follows a dispute regarding his membership status within the Junts per Cambrils-Compromís Municipal coalition. A formal appeal by a coalition representative confirmed that Daza had ceased being a member of the party in 2016, leading to the decision that he no longer represents the group's symbols.

In Cocentaina, Jordi Pla has announced he will not seek the Compromís candidacy for mayor in the 2027 municipal elections. Pla, who served as mayor between 2023 and 2025, cited personal reasons and a desire to return to his professional career as the motivation for his departure from municipal politics. His tenure included a successful 2023 election result that allowed for a governing agreement with the PSOE.
