Political misconduct allegations reported in Argentina

Two separate incidents of political misconduct and verbal aggression have been reported in Argentina.

In Comodoro Rivadavia, Councilman Omar Luis Lattanzio faced criticism for using his position in the Deliberative Council to express disdain for the Unión Cívica Radical party. During a session, Lattanzio reportedly used derogatory language toward the political organization, sparking a debate regarding whether a legislative seat belongs to the individual representative or the political party that nominated them.

In Tanti, Córdoba, former mayor Luis Azar is facing legal accusations of violence and intimidation. A female council member, identified only as “M” for security reasons, filed a complaint alleging that Azar engaged in extreme outbursts, including shouting and hitting tables, making the legislative environment unsustainable. Despite the complaint being filed with the courts in Villa Carlos Paz, the council recently voted against a proposal to suspend the former mayor for 60 days.
