Political parties face shifts in funding in Yucatán and Galicia

In Yucatán, Mexico, three new political forces—PAZ, Somos México, and Compromiso Social—are set to receive approximately 11.7 million pesos in public funding between the remainder of 2026 and 2027. According to the Instituto Electoral y de Participación Ciudadana de Yucatán (IEPAC), the total budget for political party activities is expected to rise to 144.5 million pesos this year, up from 134.1 million in 2025. This increase is attributed to legislative formulas rather than solely the addition of new parties.

In Galicia, Spain, the Democracia Ourensana parliamentary group reported a deficit for the 2025 fiscal year. Unlike other groups such as the PP, BNG, and PSdeG, which transferred significant funds to their respective parties, Democracia Ourensana made no such transfers. Operating as a Mixed Group with a single deputy, the group recorded expenses of 87,530 euros against effective revenues of 70,965 euros, resulting in a negative balance of 16,565 euros.
