Spain political parties present candidates for November 29 elections

Political parties across Spain are finalizing their candidate lists for the general elections scheduled for November 29. The PSOE has presented its candidates in several provinces, including Teruel, Huesca, and León, where they have formed joint lists with progressive forces like Frente Amplio to consolidate support. Leaders such as Pilar Alegría have campaigned on the defense of social rights, citing achievements like the increase of the minimum wage from 735 euros to over 1,200 euros.

The Partido Popular (PP) has also unveiled its leadership for various regions. In Cádiz, María José García-Pelayo will lead the list for the Congress, while Jacinto Muñoz will head the Senate list and is expected to become the Mayor of Algeciras. In Extremadura, José Antonio Monago will lead the Senate list for Badajoz. PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo has framed his candidates as ‘architects of reconstruction,’ promising alternatives in housing, taxes, and pensions.

Other formations are also mobilizing. Adelante Andalucía presented its candidates in Seville, focusing their platform on combating housing speculation and tourist apartments. Podemos Andalucía announced its provincial leaders, including Alejandra Durán for Granada. Additionally, in the Valencian Community, regional president Juanfran Pérez Llorca announced a restructuring of the government following the departure of Elena Albalat.
