Political parties in DRC and Cameroon prepare for upcoming elections

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the ECiDé party is calling for political mobilization in the Tshangu district. Clément Muza, the party's national secretary for justice, met with supporters in Masina to discuss upcoming activities organized by the C64 opposition coalition. The coalition has rejected the national dialogue proposed by President Félix Tshisekedi, labeling it a ‘dialogue-trap’ and demanding a more inclusive process. A march is planned for September 15, 2026, to protest the referendum law and demand a genuine national dialogue.

In Cameroon, the Union démocratique du Cameroun (UDC) has outlined its strategy for the 2027 municipal and legislative elections. During a national executive council meeting in Foumban, party leaders established guidelines for candidate selection and emphasized the need to strengthen local presence. The party aims to increase its representation in Parliament and local government by intensifying grassroots mobilization and encouraging voter registration. The UDC also called upon its diaspora sections to support these domestic political objectives.
