Political parties in Mozambique and Angola announce national conventions

The Anamola party in Mozambique has convened an Extraordinary Convention in Maputo to discuss internal and external strategic issues. Under the slogan ‘The Future Starts Now!’, the meeting aims to strengthen party institutions and consolidate its vision for the country. This organizational effort comes less than a month before the Supreme Court trial of party leader Venâncio Mondlane, scheduled for November 17. While the official agenda has not been released, political analysts suggest the convention may address the party's leadership structure in the event of a conviction.

In Angola, the Humanist Party of Angola (PHA) has introduced a preparatory commission for its National Convention, which is set for December 5. The commission, led by coordinator Santos João, was formed in compliance with a Constitutional Court ruling. The announcement comes amid internal disputes, with the commission claiming that actions taken by the current leadership under Ivo Ginguma are illegal and violate party statutes and court orders.
