Political parties in Querétaro prepare for 2027 elections
Political parties in Querétaro, Mexico, are preparing for the 2027 elections through distinct strategic processes.
Martín Arango García, the state leader of the National Action Party (PAN), announced that the party has completed a 14-month research phase. This process involved 28 surveys and approximately 40,000 questionnaires, including anthropological studies and focus groups, to identify the needs of various regions such as the Sierra Gorda and San Juan del Río. The goal is to select candidates based on societal requirements rather than mere popularity.
Meanwhile, Abigail Arredondo Ramos, president of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in Querétaro, indicated that official announcements regarding state coordinations could occur in November. Arredondo Ramos noted that the party is analyzing whether to run without alliances in the upcoming elections. She also criticized the PAN and Morena for engaging in what she described as premature campaigning, violating electoral laws regarding timing.
