Political parties register candidates for Taichung elections

Political parties in Taiwan are advancing their candidate registrations for upcoming local elections. In Taichung, eight candidates from the Democratic Progressive Party's Ying faction have jointly registered for city council seats. Using the slogan “Taichung Ying, Taichung Win,” the group aims to present a unified team across various administrative districts to support He Xin-chun’s mayoral campaign.

Meanwhile, Taiwan People's Party (TPP) Chairman Huang Kuo-chang accompanied six TPP city council candidates during their registration in Taichung. During the event, Huang addressed the breakdown of cooperation between the TPP and the Kuomintang (KMT) regarding the Zhu Bei mayoral race. He expressed regret over the KMT's failure to uphold previous commitments but urged supporters to limit their grievances to the Hsinchu County area, stating that the actions of specific individuals should not affect political cooperation in other cities.
