Political preparations advance in Guinea and Morocco

In Guinea, the National Autonomous Observatory for the Supervision of Referendums and Elections (ONASUR-E) has launched a training workshop in Conakry to prepare supervisors for upcoming regional and senatorial elections. Led by President Dr. Sékou Koureissy Condé, the initiative aims to professionalize citizen surveillance and ensure the legality and impartiality of the electoral process, which is viewed as a vital step for local democracy and the rule of law.

In Morocco, the Ministry of the Interior has initiated consultations with political parties regarding the 2027 elections. Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit met with parliamentary group leaders to discuss the legal and organizational framework for renewing local, regional, and professional councils, as well as the House of Councillors. Political parties have been invited to submit proposals by November 15 to assist in drafting potential legislative amendments aimed at enhancing transparency and electoral integrity.
