Political shifts emerge in Pietrasanta and Viterbo

In Pietrasanta, Deputy Mayor Francesca Bresciani of Fratelli d’Italia is being considered as a potential candidate for the 2027 national parliamentary elections. Bresciani, who was the most voted woman in the province of Lucca during recent regional elections, has not confirmed nor denied the rumors, stating she would be honored to represent her territory. Her potential move to Rome could shift local power dynamics, potentially clearing a path for Councilor Matteo Marcucci for the 2028 municipal elections. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party (PD) is working to build a broad center-left coalition for future local contests.

In Viterbo, Simona Governatori, a former member of Noi Moderati, has officially joined the civic movement ‘Francesco Rocca Presidente – Per il Bene Comune’. Regional coordinator Luisa Ciambella announced the move, noting that the movement aims to build a united center-right coalition for the 2027 municipal elections. The movement maintains a federative pact with Fratelli d’Italia while seeking to support the re-election of Francesco Rocca as President of the Lazio Region.
