Political shifts in Swedish school elections and Finnish education concerns

In Sweden, the Moderaterna party has achieved significant dominance in recent school elections across the Dalarna region. In most municipalities, including Avesta and Borlänge, the Moderaterna emerged as the largest party among students. Smedjebacken was the sole exception, where the Sverigedemokraterna secured the top position.

In Finland, the Swedish Teachers' Union has expressed serious concern regarding administrative changes in Vanda. The municipality plans to integrate Swedish-language school administration into the existing Finnish-language administration and eliminate the director position for Swedish services. The union argues this move threatens the quality of Swedish-language education and the rights of students to an equitable educational path.
