Political shifts in Tlaxcala and government report in Aguascalientes
In Tlaxcala, the political landscape for the 2027 elections is increasingly being shaped by female figures. Ana Lilia Rivera, recently appointed as the coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of Transformation and National Sovereignty in Tlaxcala, has emerged as a leading figure for the Morena party. Recent polling indicates Morena maintains a significant advantage in the region, with intention to vote ranging from 40.8% to 45.7%, significantly higher than the PRI. Rivera has called for unity and territorial organization, emphasizing direct contact with citizens to strengthen the transformation project led by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
Separately, in Aguascalientes, Governor Tere Jiménez presented her fourth government report. She highlighted improvements in public safety through the ‘Blindaje Aguascalientes’ initiative, noting a 29% decrease in crime and a 31% increase in the perception of security. The report also detailed advancements in healthcare, including the creation of specialized medical units for bone marrow transplants and burn patients, alongside the completion of 66 infrastructure projects in the health sector.
