Political shifts occur in Scicli and Alcamo ahead of 2027 elections
Political landscapes are shifting in the Sicilian towns of Scicli and Alcamo as local leaders and council members reorganize ahead of the 2027 administrative elections.
In Scicli, Orazio Ragusa, former regional parliamentarian, has announced he will not run for mayor in the upcoming elections. This decision follows political friction and shifting alliances within the center-right coalition. Meanwhile, Fratelli d’Italia is strengthening its presence in the city, officially welcoming Desirè Ficili, the current president of the City Council, and Lorenzo Bonincontro as new members. Additionally, Mayor Mario Marino’s administration sees further movement with the official joining of Forza Italia.
In Alcamo, the city council is experiencing significant changes in its composition. Michela Giusto and Alessandro Messana have entered the council to fill vacancies left by Francesco Orlando and Baldo Mancuso. These transitions highlight a period of political mobility, including party switches and the movement of members between civic lists and structured political parties such as the Udc and Lega Salvini Sicilia.
