Political tensions emerge in El Salvador and Peru

In El Salvador, Labor Minister Rolando Castro engaged in a public dispute with journalist Roberto Valencia. Castro defended the government’s labor proposal, noting it includes components addressing public transportation challenges. He challenged Valencia’s moral standing, accusing him of delivering messages to judges and demanding that the journalist present direct evidence if he has any against the minister.

In Peru, Minister Juan Sheput stated that the ministerial cabinet is consolidated and expressed full support for Interior Minister César Astudillo. This comes amid debates regarding the government's request for legislative powers to address citizen insecurity. The political tension escalated during a Senate Constitutional Commission session, which was briefly suspended following a verbal altercation between Minister Astudillo and Senator Iber Maraví after Senator Ruth Luque questioned the Interior Ministry’s approach to police reform.
