Political tensions rise in Nigeria between APC and ADC

Political friction has intensified in Nigeria as the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) exchange accusations regarding economic management and internal governance.

Kenneth Okonkwo, a spokesperson for ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, criticized President Bola Tinubu, alleging that his administration has increased national debt and insecurity. Okonkwo argued that the current economic state has left Nigerians impoverished and suggested that the country must seek a change in leadership by 2027 to address the lack of subsidies and economic hardship.

In response, the APC Presidential Campaign Council, via spokesperson Dele Alake, accused the ADC of failing to pay its staff for over a year. The APC questioned the ADC's capacity to govern the nation, citing the alleged neglect of party workers. Furthermore, the APC targeted Atiku Abubakar, alleging a history of unpaid salaries at his associated businesses, and criticized ADC National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola for his previous management of Osun State's finances.
