Political tensions rise in Poland over local governance and abortion laws

In Zabrze, former acting president Ewa Weber has called for a return to human values such as loyalty, respect, and gratitude. Her remarks follow significant personnel changes in the city magistrate and an ongoing public conflict between Mayor Kamil Żbikowski and Councilor Sebastian Dziębowski regarding the management of Kino Roma.

Nationally, the Coalition for Life and Family has issued an appeal for the President of Poland to veto new legislation passed by the Sejm. The organization is protesting laws that decriminalize abortion and restore the possibility of terminating pregnancies due to severe fetal abnormalities, labeling the parliamentary decision as “shameful and contrary to the Constitution.”
