Political updates from Nicolas Fink and the Liaison Group

Nicolas Fink, chairman of the Finance Committee, has resumed parliamentary activities following the summer break. His recent engagements include discussions with IG Metall Esslingen regarding the future of industry and job preservation, as well as participation in SPD state parliamentary faction meetings.

In the European sphere, the Liaison Group is focusing on the EU Strategy for Civil Society. Following President von der Leyen’s State of the Union address, the group is advocating for structured engagement between civil society and democratic institutions. This includes participation in the Parliamentary Democracy Forum at the European Parliament, where Séamus Boland will discuss embedding civil society into democratic decision-making processes to move from episodic consultation to genuine co-creation.
